Mission and Vision: Our mission is to equip graduates, known as Environmental Health Officers, with the skills to become all-round professionals in handling environmental health issues. Through effective teaching, learning, research, and critical analysis of global health trends, we prepare our students to address the challenges posed by rapidly changing environmental factors affecting public health.

Our vision is to become a Health Training Institution of excellence, where competent graduates are produced to handle the challenges of a dynamically evolving world that influences public health.

Duties in Environmental Health Work: Our graduates are trained to perform a wide range of duties, including regular inspections, food hygiene and safety, air, water, and environmental protection, waste management, disease control, housing and occupational safety, port health duties, and more.

International Collaboration: The School of Hygiene, Ho, is proud to have international partnerships, including a program with Maastricht University through its NUFFIC program, fostering global collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Community and Growth: Over the years, we have built a reputation as the first choice for academics and training in Environmental Health programs. Our community has witnessed remarkable growth, with approximately 645 students enrolled in Certificate, Regular, and Sandwich programs, representing diverse backgrounds from across the country and beyond.
